Gasmet Portable FTIR

GasmetTM Technologies - Solutions for gas monitoring applications

Gasmet™ Technologies from Finland provides solutions for demanding gas monitoring applications, such as continuous emissions monitoring, process gas analysis and ambient air monitoring. The Gasmet™ gas analyzers employ state-of-the-art measurement technologies, such as FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), TDL (Tunable Diode Laser) and CVAF (Cold Vapour Atomic Fluoresence).  Their goal is to provide our clients with cost-effective system solutions, not just analyzers. We offer comprehensive after-sales support in New England.

Gasmet DX-4040 FTIR for haz mat

New Gasmet DX4040 Portable FTIR Gas Analyzer

The advanced, easy-to-use Gasmet DX-4040 FTIR Gas Analyzer is one of the most powerful instruments available for gas analysis.

Designed with First Responders & Hazmat teams in mind, the all new DX-4040 in one rugged field package provides identification and quantification of Toxic Industrial Chemicals and Chemical Warfare Agents.

Features include:

  • Rapid measurement of 25 gases simultaneously
  • Identification of "Unknowns" using NIST/EPA 5,000+ reference library
  • Measured data can be transmitted to the command center using built-in 3G modem or wireless LAN adapter
  • GPS and digital camera data can transmitted with gas measurements
  • Requires no consumables or calibration gases, only a zero calibration with nitrogen or air
  • Identification of both organic and inorganic gases at sub-ppm detection
  • Truly field portable with battery operation (shoulder or backmount carry options) and gas readings displayed and stored on handheld PDA

This successor to well-known DX4030 gas analyzer is a complete redesign tailored to meet users’ requirements. The DX4040 comes with a 200 gas library for identification and accurate analysis of gases in part-per-million concentrations. Up to 25 gases can be measured simultaneously, and the selection of these gases from the 200 gas list is easy with an intuitive touch screen display.

The portable FTIR gas analyzer weights 12 kg including batteries and features a patented GICCOR interferometer which is shock and vibration resistant, operates in any orientation and scans the infrared spectrum 10 times per second. The all-new design of the DX4040 features a smart Lithium-ion battery with charge indicators on the analyzer front panel and handheld computer.

Wireless Bluetooth communication between the analyzer and a handheld computer running Calcmet Lite software is complemented by an RS-232 serial cable for environments where wireless networks may not be used. The rugged IP67 classified handheld computer itself has been upgraded to a more powerful model with clear large display, integrated GPS and digital camera for documenting measurement sites and wireless connectivity with WLAN and 3G network adapters.

Gasmet DX4030 with PDA

Gasmet™ Dx-4030

Gasmet™ DX4030 is a lightweight FTIR gas analyzer for ambient air analysis. It’s designed for applications where a number of compounds need to be accurate monitored in ambient air. Examples include leakage detection and various industrial hygiene applications (monitoring of VOC’s, TIC’s, anesthetic gases etc.). It’s also well suited for first response / HAZMAT type applications, thanks to its lightweight construction and fast response time. user does not require any previous experience with analytical instruments in order to operate the DX4030.

Gasmet™ DX4030 can be used in table-top configuration or fitted inside a back-pack.

With Gasmet™ DX4030 no sample preparation is needed; the sample gas is drawn into the analyzer with a built-in pump through a particle filter.

Gasmet™ DX4030 features a unique PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) user interface with Calcmet™ Lite software. Analysis results of up to 25 compounds are shown on the screen (in vol-%, ppm or mg/Nm3). All data is stored on the memory of the PDA and can be transferred to a PC.

Optionally, the measured spectra can be transferred to Calcmet™ DX4030 Pro - software for further analysis with the Gasmet™ Reference Library, which contains IR – spectrum of 250 different gases (quantitative identification). Also available is the Gasmet™ Extended Reference Library with a total of 5224 IR spectra, which is makes it an excellent tool for identification of unknown compounds from a sample (qualitative identification).

Span calibrations are not required, thanks to inherent calibration stability of the FTIR analyzer. The user is only required to perform a zero calibration with nitrogen or ambient air every 24 hours.

Application Areas:

  • Industrial Hygiene - Workplace Air Quality measurements of VOC´s
  • Cargo Containers – Detection of residual fumigants
  • Leak Detection – VOC´s, freons, inorganics – all with a single Gasmet™ DX4030 analyzer
  • Hospitals – Monitoring of anesthetic gases, sterilizers and laboratory solvents
  • Soil gases – Monitoring of chlorinated hydrocarbons and BTEX at remediation sites
  • Greenhouse gases – N2O, CO2, CH4 plus many others
